Looking to make a Charitable Donation This Year?

If you want to make a year-end contribution with a tax deduction, please consider MVFA. We have a community fund to help neighbors in need and the MVFA Station 75 Fund that provides funds for the Fire Department that are authorized by the Fire Chief.  Also, with our dam back fees almost paid off,  we have numerous projects planned at Finnon Lake for next year including sand for the beach area, a shower and handicap stall addition on the bathroom, and a long-term plan for a community event building at Finnon.  MVFA is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions may be tax deductible.  A letter stating your contribution will be provided on request.  Send your donation to MVFA, 9009 Orval Beckett Ct., Placerville CA 95667.  Or go to and make a credit card donation thru the PayPal link. Community Christmas Dinner this Saturday, 12/12!

We hope you'll join us on Saturday, December 12th, for the MVFA's Annual Community Christmas Dinner at the Mosquito Fire Station.  The meal includes turkey and all the trimmings and is free to all Mosquito/Swansboro residents.  This is a great way to enjoy the holiday spirit with neighbors and friends and show our appreciation to the people who serve and support our community.  Santa will appear at 5:00 p.m. with gifts for the kids. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. Take out dinners will be available.

Additionally, the MVFA is asking for donations of canned and boxed foods for the Community Christmas Baskets. Please remember opened boxes, outdated food, and perishables cannot be accepted. Donations can be brought to the Community Christmas Dinner on December 12th or be dropped off at the Fire Station NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 15th. If you wish to donate either a turkey or a ham, please let us know by calling either Sharon at 530-626-5268 or Mary Ann at 530-622-5477. Thank you in advance for your help, and may you have a wonderful holiday.

And don’t forget our Chips for Kids toy drive. We are teaming again this year with the California Highway Patrol. There is a donation barrel at the Fire Station. Gifts for children should be unwrapped so they can be matched to the children’s age. Please don’t forget our pre-teens and teenagers.
